Coro transformed my outlook on life, on how I approach issues, and how I came to understand my potential.

As a student at UC Irvine, I was encouraged to apply to the Coro Fellows Program in Public Affairs by a Coro alumnus, who convinced me that the experience will add value in both my personal and professional life. Following my Coro graduation this past May, I realized that I got that and so much more. I am now using the Coro training in my current work in binational business.

I am currently in Mexico City as a Fulbright Scholar, working full-time at the private bank of Rothschild, Mexico, as a financial analyst. I am also taking courses at the Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico (ITAM), Mexico’s top MBA program. My interest in economic development was sparked during my Coro business placement at Dodge and Cox last year.

Coro’s training is an asset for me in Mexico. I understand how to be aware of my assumptions, and how to operate from a point of wanting to understand before acting.

The training is helping me to better understand Mexico, its residents, its rich culture, its business environment, and how binational relations between two interdependent countries with unique backgrounds operate.Coro has given me the confidence that I can work in the U.S. or abroad – or anywhere – and think critically about systems, diverse sectors, and how to effectively collaborate with others who may not share my perceptions.

I look forward to using Coro training throughout my future personal and professional life.
