Coro Fellows Explore Sacramento Amidst the California Budget Crisis

In January, the Coro Fellows worked in small teams to make significant contributions to four Bay Area organizations including the Port of Oakland, the San Francisco Department of Public Works, the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, and the Port of San Francisco. Full Article>>

Coro Fellows Delve into the Business Sector

At the end of 2008, the Coro Fellows explored the business sector and worked on a variety of projects from helping to prepare the HP delegation to attend the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland to writing a white paper on best practices for outreach and community organizing for Barbary Coast Consulting.Read More>>

Coro Youth Fellows Take Action to Address Illiteracy in the Bay Area

On Saturday, January 24th, the Youth Fellows in the Coro Exploring Leadership Program participated in their fifth Saturday Exploration by learning about the issue of "illiteracy", and strategies for addressing it in their communities. The students spent the day at the Children's Day School, in the Mission District of San Francisco.

Coro Youth Fellows Explore the "Power of Music"

On Saturday, February 21st, the Youth Fellows teamed up with Oakland based non-profit, Youth Movement Records, to explore the "Power of Music". They spent the day at the Fox Theater in downtown Oakland discussing the role that music plays in society and how messages in hip-hop music affect young people.

Youth-in-Action Showcase - Saturday, April 18 (2-4 PM)

On Saturday, April 18th, the Exploring Leadership Program will host a Youth-In-Action Showcase at the Oakland Asian Cultural Center (388 9th St # 290) to showcase to the community that young people have the talent, skills, and passion to address pressing issues in their school and neighborhood communities. Summer Travel Scholarships Awarded to 12 Youth Fellows

Twelve Coro Youth Fellows will be stepping outside of their comfort zones and exploring the world as they travel abroad this summer as recipients of the Matador Travel Scholarship.
