New Coro Program in Sacramento
We are pleased to announce a new leadership training program in the Sacramento area. In partnership with the Nehemiah Foundation and the Sacramento Chapter of the American Leadership Forum, Coro will provide the training for the new Nehemiah Emerging Leaders Program. Targeted at young African-American professionals, 20-35 years of age, the new program will span ten months, with participants meeting one to two days per month. Read more »

June 30th marked the end of Coro’s fiscal year. On behalf of the Board of Directors, I want to thank all of Coro’s supporters. This past year has been a tumultuous one, with the markets in turmoil and great financial uncertainty everywhere. Honing in on the Logic of Two Developing Bay Area Communities
The 2010 Class of Exploring Leadership Youth Fellows set out to determine the Logic of Downtown Richmond and the Fillmore District during the week of June 22nd. Despite seeming like an overwhelming task to accomplish in less than three days, the Youth Fellows were able to successfully research, hone in on key topics, and present on the logic of two developing Bay Area communities.

On July 1st, all 36 Youth Fellows, in two groups of 18, left their respective offices early in the morning for an overnight, team-building retreat. The San Francisco group headed to the Marin Headlands and the East Bay group headed for Point Reyes. Read More...

The 36 Youth Fellows selected for the 10-month leadership training program represent 12 diverse public high schools in San Francisco and the East Bay. Internship Placement Hosts
The Youth Fellows began their part-time five-week internship placements in the government, nonprofit, and business sectors on July 7. We want to thank our community partners for participating as Field Faculty members. Staff and friends of Coro are sorry to bid farewell to Communications and Outreach Manager Katie Koski, but excited for the new chapter in her life. She will be leaving the Bay Area to attend grad school to earn her Master’s in Education.
