CORO

Exploring Leadership 2005, 2006

No classrooms! In Coro you learn about the real world in the real world.

Over the course of eight weeks, participants engage in internships, skill-building seminars, hands-on community research and interviews with public leaders, team building, self-exploration, technology colloquiums, outdoor adventures and a community service project.

 The Exploring Leadership Program (ELP) is a full-time summer program designed for rising high school juniors and seniors who are:
  • Interested in public service and leadership;
  • Able to work independently at internship sites;
  • Living or attending school in Los Angeles;
  • Able to commit full time (9am-5pm) to all eight weeks of the program

The goals of the Exploring Leadership Program are:

  • Give youth a voice, the skills and the confidence to make a difference in society
  • Provide youth with a deeper knowledge of our democracy and its leadership
  • Expose youth to a variety of perspectives, experiences, and viewpoints
