Maria Contreras-Sweet

Maria Contreras-Sweet is the Founder and Chairwoman of PROMÉRICA Bank, the first Latino-owned business bank in California in over 35 years. The bank serves small to mid-size businesses, with a focus on the Latino business community. Prior to founding PROMÉRICA Bank, Ms. Contreras-Sweet served for five years (the longest ever) as the California secretary of Business, Transportation, and Housing agency for the State of California.

 

 

Steve Soboroff

Steve Soboroff is Chairman and CEO of Playa Vista, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Weingart Foundation. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of First Federal Bank, a Senior Fellow at the UCLA School of Public Policy, a member of the Board of Councilors to the USC School of Public Policy, and the Chairman of the Center for the Study of Los Angeles at LMU. He has also served as Senior Advisor to Mayor Richard Riordan. 

 

The Honorable Rick Tuttle

Having served as the Associate Dean of Students and Student Affairs for UCLA, Dr. Rick Tuttle has been responsible for recruiting some of Coro's finest graduates over the last 30 years, making him a true Coro legend. Additionally, Dr. Tuttle served the City of Los Angeles as City Controller for four terms (1985-2001) and as a two-term elected member of the LA Community College Board (1977-1985), where he also served as Board President in 1981-82.

 

The Honorable Dennis P. Zine

As a third-term Los Angeles City Councilman for the Third District, Councilman Zine has contributed more than $250,000 from his Council salary to non-profit organizations. He also serves as the President of the Independent Cities Association and is the LA City representative to the Board of the National League of Cities. Retired as Sergeant from the LA Police Department, he also remains an active duty Reserve Officer.
