Coro Fellows Program in Public Affairs
About the Program
The Fellows Program in Public Affairs is an intensive nine-month, full-time, post-graduate level program which offers a rigorous experience-based education for diverse, committed individuals who want to develop effective and marketable leadership skills and become seriously involved in civic activities.
Fellows are bright, self-initiating and self-managing individuals. They have demonstrated leadership ability, integrity and a commitment to public service. Fellows come from diverse ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds, educational and work experiences, political views, geography, age and gender. This diversity allows the Fellows to learn how disparate individuals in the public process can work together to solve common problems. Coro Methodology has demonstrated significant success for over 60 years. Coro draws its intellectual framework from John Dewey and General Semantics. Its unique approach utilizes experiential learning and inquiry. Experiential learning occurs in both the weekly seminars and field assignments. Learning based in experiences and practiced over time is naturally retained and is applicable to life in general as well as any profession a participant chooses.
