Information about Hosting a Coro Fellow for a Sector Placements
One notable outcome of Coro training is a comprehensive understanding of the community. Coro alumni know that each sector of the community is important and recognize the role each sector plays in creating an integrated, vibrant society.
To that end, sector internships are one of the most important components of the Fellows Program. Each Fellow completes projects for different organizations in government, business, organized labor, electoral politics and nonprofit sector organizations. Through these field placements, Fellows learn how various organizations function. Fellows also discover how the different sectors interact to build a community.
Each Fellow’s experience is tailored to compliment and challenge their existing experiences. The Fellows are expected to work with their placement supervisors to maximize the educational value of each placement. Host organizations benefit from the fresh perspective and excellent work completed by these exceptional individuals. The following criteria are essential for a mutually beneficial placement:
Encouraged by the track record of both the organizational goodwill experienced over the years and the project work accomplished by the Fellows, Coro utilizes a fee-for-placements model which has been in existence for over 4 years. It seems to be a win-win scenario. Organizations are making an important contribution to future, enlightened leaders and to Coro. Coro and the Fellows are able to return value to the organization through the Fellows project work.
