Final 2009 Connected Women Event A Success!

 

 

On November 18, 2009, Christine Taylor-Broughton spoke about her vision for leadership in the region to participants who attended the Coro's Connected Women event held at the Knight Center at Washington University. The presentation covered the importance of diversity, life-balance, mentoring, adaptability, and being true to core values while responding to customer needs. The audience of almost 100 participants appreciated Christine's perspective as one of the next generation of leaders in our region. For a copy of the presentation, click here.

Past Events

September 3, 2009 brought a lively discussion on philanthropy and volunteerism with Joyce Aboussie, Abbousie and Associates, Ellen Sherberg, St. Louis Business Journal, and Adrian Bracy, YWCA Metro St. Louis.  The event was facilitated by local Fox2 anchor, Mandy Murphey, with a welcome from Lucia Rodriguez, St. Louis Rams, event and series sponsor.  


 

Our first 2009 event held on April 22nd featured Paula Berg, Emerging Media, Southwest Airlines, speaking on how to leverage social media in one's professional life.  Paula offered examples from Southwest Airlines experience as a leader in social media, covering blogs, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.  A copy of Paula's Powerpoint presentation is available by clicking here.  


 

The final 2008 event involved many women joining Coro for a lively discussion centered on Gallup's Strength Finder's book series.  Participants took away a specific action plan designed to help them focus on what they do best!  Led by Dixie Platt, Senior VP, Mission and External Relations, SSM Health Care.  Registrants received a copy of Strength Finders 2.0 book at the event.


Our second event in the 2008 series, held on May 2nd, featured Norma Clayton, Vice President for Learning, Training, and Development of The Boeing Company®. More than 100 women heard Ms. Clayton share her Keys to Success as she told the story of her ever-increasing leadership responsibilities. 
Our first event in the 2008 series, held on April 3rd, featured Maxine Clark of Build-A-Bear Workshop®. More than 150 women heard Ms. Clark share her story, her business strategy for launching and growing Build-A-Bear Workshop®, and her lessons in leadership along the way.
