New Coro Graduates: UCSF and the City of Fremont

In May, Coro and the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) graduated our fifth cohort of 16 Coro-trained UCSF faculty members. The UCSF-Coro Faculty Leadership Collaborative is a multi-year effort between Coro and the Chancellor's Council on Faculty Life to nurture faculty leadership development and increase their engagement in the University. Meeting ten days over the course of a semester, participants learn Coro’s proprietary leadership tools, coach one another on workplace challenges, interview campus leaders, and learn effective ways to catalyze change. In evaluations, graduates have overwhelmingly credited Coro with strengthening their leadership skills, broadening their peer support networks, renewing their sense of commitment to the University, and increasing their confidence to initiate positive change at all levels of the institution.

In addition to learning Coro’s leadership tools, participants engaged in an experiential program aimed at increasing their ability to initiate positive change in municipal government.

Coro’s methodology embodies our hallmark “experiential” style of training: participants examine and engage in real-world organizational and leadership challenges, interview current leaders, and are encouraged to self-govern activities and discussions. This enables participants to empower themselves to take responsibility for their own learning.
