About Us
Learning to be an effective leader is a life-long journey. Coro Center for Civic Leadership is a non-profit, non-partisan organization that provides experiential and seminar training to groups of diverse leaders. Coro's programs put participants on the path to self-discovery and continual learning. Using a proprietary curriculum involving experience, group participation, interviews, and seminars, Coro participants learn about leadership across multiple sectors, industries, and issues.
In its 65-year history, Coro has graduated thousands of leaders from its many programs. Coro graduates are teachers, investment bankers, union leaders, corporate directors, activists, lawyers, journalists, and elected officials, among other professions. No matter where they work or what job titles they hold, they have learned how to challenge themselves and others to be more ethical and effective leaders.
There are Coro centers in San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, St. Louis, Pittsburgh and Kansas City. Coro Northern California runs four leadership development programs: The Coro Fellows Program in Public Affairs, Exploring Leadership, Coro Contract Programs, and the Community Leadership Program
