Thus far, 63 professors from across the Schools of Nursing, Medicine, Pharmacy and Dentistry have participated in one of four iterations of the 63-hour program. Meeting once every two weeks over a semester, participants interviewed campus leaders, completed Coro projects, coached one another on workplace challenges, and created a lasting support network.
In evaluations, graduates have overwhelmingly credited the program with broadening their networks, renewing their commitment to the University, strengthening their leadership skills, and increasing their confidence to initiate positive change at all levels of the institution. Senior UCSF leaders have tapped graduates to serve on important committees and asked them to provide feedback on UCSF’s ambitious strategic plan.Read more about the partnership in UCSF Today.
Coro-City of Fremont Leadership Collaborative
Coro is proud to announce a new Partnership with the City of Fremont. Beginning in April 2008, Coro offers its unique, experiential model of leadership development in a program specifically tailored to a group of the City’s mid and senior level staff managers. Through a competitive process, Coro was selected by the City of Fremont to design and deliver a program of leadership training consisting of eight full training days spread over several months.
Coro’s approach to leadership training is based on providing participants with interactive learning opportunities that consist of a mixture of skills-based seminars, interviews with an array of local leaders, and group activities and discussions. Fremont joins Coro’s other current leadership development partners, the University of California, San Francisco and University of California Davis.

Targeted at young African-American professionals, 20-35 years of age, the new program will span ten months, with participants meeting one to two days per month. Program outcomes revolve around three major areas: (1) Enhancing the leadership skills of the participants through their introduction to Coro training in such areas as self and group awareness, planning and delegation, strategic communication, organizational analysis, and leading innovation and change. (2) A new or deepened connection to peers, colleagues and a network of leaders in the Sacramento region through meetings, interviews, group exercises and retreats. (3) Increased ability and confidence to become civically engaged and initiate change and innovation in the Sacramento area. |
