Zach Blume

Zach aspires to create a social enterprise that fosters cooperation between the public and private sectors to find lasting solutions for urban America's most pressing challenges. As an undergraduate, Zach interned for the ACLU-Northern California and for United States Senator Ron Wyden. After graduating Phi Beta Kappa, Zach was an organizer for a Congressional campaign where he directed an extensive volunteer network. Zach has also worked as an English tutor and as an instructor in juvenile rehabilitation centers.
Lucas Botello

Lucas plans on entering politics to promote policies that will spur economic development and provide more affordable and adequate housing, education and healthcare to underprivileged communities.  As a student, Lucas focused on health policy issues. At Stanford, he held many leadership positions, including president of his freshman dorm, president of his sophomore class, and president of Los Hermanos. Through Los Hermanos, he created Courtside Mentorship, a sports mentorship program for underprivileged youth.
Kirstin Conti

Kirstin hopes to use environmental policy and activism to promote sustainable lifestyles throughout the world. In college, she studied the scientific, technological, and political mechanisms used to preserve the global environment. She gained exposure to policy issues during her internship at the U.S. State Department. After conducting research in South Africa, Kirstin realized the importance of being able to communicate about the environment across cultural and international boundaries. Kirstin was also active in her sorority and residential education during her undergraduate career.
Alea Gage

Alea hopes to facilitate dialogue on issues of community and neighborhood redevelopment. Since finishing her undergraduate education, she has worked on issues of homelessness and poverty, first at a public interest law clinic for homeless clients in Los Angeles and then at a public policy law firm in San Francisco.  In college, she contributed to a study of the working conditions of Los Angeles taxi drivers and worked at the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee in Washington, DC during the 2004 election.

Craig hopes to found a church that is committed to justice. As an undergraduate, he was involved with Intervarsity Christian Fellowship and took part in a summer mission to low-income neighborhoods in Boston. While there, he felt a call to the ministry. Upon completing his studies at Fuller Seminary, he worked as an Assistant Pastor in West Covina, CA for three years. Through Coro, Craig hopes to learn more about how to serve the poor and gain the tools and networks that will enable him to make a lasting impact.
Diana Medina

Diana plans to earn a graduate degree in public policy or business. Her ultimate career goals are to serve her community as an elected official and to teach at the university level. As an undergraduate, Diana was chapter president of Sigma Lambda Gamma and heavily involved in the student government as a student senator, director, and committee member. She also worked with many youth programs as a coach, tutor, and art teacher. She plans to continue mentoring youth throughout her career.
Caroline C. Mullen

Caroline is committed to community development. As an intern at the Fifth Avenue Committee, she developed a community research project focused on living wages. Most recently, she worked in fundraising at AIDS Walk San Francisco. As an undergraduate, Caroline was active in student life serving on the History Council, as a Student Mentor and leading freshman orientation trips. Caroline has studied abroad in Spain, Italy and Vietnam. Since graduation, she has continued to be involved with her college by serving as an admissions and alumni representative.
Tuan Q. Ngo

Tuan aims to work alongside underserved communities and wants to promote values of equality and equity. He has taught students in Sacramento’s low-income neighborhoods and initiated an English camp in a leprosy community while studying in Thailand. As an undergraduate, he was the Editor-in-Chief of his college journal on international affairs, addressed campus policies towards students of color, and raised money for orphans living with HIV/AIDS in Africa. For his undergraduate thesis, he produced a documentary that examined Vietnam’s political, economic, and social landscape.
Ariana Proehl

Ariana seeks to pursue a career in international affairs focusing on social change in developing countries. During college, Ariana went abroad often studying in Cuba, Barbados, and Brazil.  Her passion for cultural diversity and social change work began as a teenager and spurred her involvement with diversity education non-profit DiversityWorks in Oakland where she became Executive Director at age 22.  She speaks English, Portuguese and Spanish and hopes to continue her career at a philanthropic or non-governmental organization after Coro.
Raema Quam

Raema is committed to continuing her social justice work with a new emphasis on facilitating collaboration between the various sectors that make up the public sphere. She studied anti-oppressive social work at the University of Victoria, Canada. After graduation, she worked as a front-line social worker assisting exploited youth in exiting the sex trade. She then interned with a cross-cultural, environmentally based, peace-building program in the Middle East. Most recently, she worked for a public education and policy advocacy coalition.
Nadir Vissanjy

Nadir aspires to be a life long public servant through international diplomacy. With his upbringing in Europe and the United States, Nadir values the global paradigm. He plans on earning a Master’s in International Relations at a Washington DC-based University. He would like to work for the United Nations, the State Department or global entities focused on social issues. During his tenure at Sonoma State University, Nadir served as student body president for two years and also the Chair of the California State Student Association.
Geoff Willard

Geoff intends to pursue a career in sustainable resource development. While an AmeriCorps volunteer with the Marin Conservation Corps (MCC), Geoff developed resource-based science lessons, presented them to local high-school students, and led an adult trail crew on restoration projects of native habitats in Marin. Geoff came to value grassroots-led conservation movements while studying the development and political integration of the European Union in  Freiburg, Germany. He has also worked as a professional photographer in Sequoia National Park.
