Creative ways to help Coro
The Coro Center for Civic Leadership Receives a Generous Donation From IBM
In October, Coro Center for Civic Leadership enjoyed the enormous good fortune of receiving ten Lenovo Thinkpad laptop computers from IBM. This invaluable donation benefits all our program participants, particularly the network of Exploring Leadership Youth Fellows as we expand the program in 2009.
Thank you to all of our friends at IBM, and in particular, a special thanks to Gwyneth Borden for her tireless efforts in behalf of Coro!
Aqua-Bike Challenge
Coro Center for Civic Leadership enjoyed a welcomed boost in contributions this summer thanks to the athletic achievement of Luis Buhler (FPPA ’76 SF, current member of the Board of Directors), who competed in the Sonoma County Vineman Aquabike race on August 2nd. Through generous sponsorships from friends, family and business associates, over $5,000 was raised in support of Coro. Please click here to see a list of Luis’s donors.
The race included a 1.2 mile open water swim and a 56 mile bike ride. Luis was pleased to have completed the competition, and credits his supporters for providing the motivation, particularly through the Sonoma heat.
We are grateful for Luis’ thoughtfulness in designating Coro as the charitable beneficiary for his race. If you’re involved in a similar activity and would like to designate Coro as your charitable organization, please contact Tracey Jones at tjones@coro.org or 415-986-0521, ext. 106.
