CORO

The 14th Annual Leadership Post Luncheon

The 14th Annual Coro Leadership Luncheon, held on April 17th at the San Francisco Marriott Hotel, was the most successful Leadership Luncheon in Coro’s history. More than 550 people attended the Luncheon and contributed over $375,000 to support Coro’s leadership training programs.

Political strategist and communications expert Edward J. Rollins and leading analyst of public opinion Peter D. Hart were led in an onstage conversation by KQED journalist and Coro alumna, Mina Kim. The Crystal Eagle Award went to U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein; a graduate of the Coro Fellows Program in Public Affairs. The Coro Medal for Outstanding Community Leadership was awarded  to The Hewlett-Packard Company.

Thanks go to Ryan Senser, a Coro Fellow graduate from New York, for providing his animated film explaining the Coro Fellows Program in Public Affairs.

The additional stars of the day were the Coro Fellows and Youth Fellows who introduced the awardees and speakers. The 2009 Youth Fellows LaTasha Bankhead and Anthony Bushong and 2009 Coro Public Affairs Fellows Alyson Megur and Andrea Willis truly represented the spirit of Coro.

The funds raised at the Leadership Luncheon will provide direct and vital support for all of Coro’s programs, including the Fellows Program in Public Affairs and the Exploring Leadership youth program.

The drawing for the raffle of the original painting by Toni Cassar was held on Monday, April 20th, and the winner is:
Megan Smith Janis - from PG&E
