Coro is excited to welcome two new members to the San Francisco team. We’d like to introduce you all to Alison Traina, our Manager of Youth Programs, and Davey Shlasko, Manager of the Fellows Program.
A Bay Area native, Alison Traina has served Coro in a part-time capacity as a Campus Manager of the Youth In Action after school program, and as a Summer Program manager of the Exploring Leadership program. Prior to managing the East Bay cohort of the Exploring Leadership program this past summer, Alison earned a Masters in Education from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. There, she focused her studies on culturally responsive teaching practices, and the relationship between schools and community-based organizations. Alison’s prior experience includes coordinating mentoring programs, facilitating youth advisory boards, and serving two terms of service through AmeriCorps. Alison took the position of Youth Programs Manager in June 2011, and will spend the upcoming academic year running Youth In Action programs at San Leandro High School and Balboa High School, as well as contributing to the recently reformatted youth alumni program. She looks forward to empowering Coro participants to make positive change in their communities, and in their own lives. You can contact Alison by calling her at 415.986.0521 x 108 or atraina@coro.org.
