Alumni News
CNAA connects alumni with each other, with resources in their community, with ideas, and with leadership tools that will help make those ideas a reality. And in very practical terms, CNAA connects alumni with jobs.
Considering the present economic climate (according to the U.S. Dept. of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics, the national unemployment rate has lingered around 10% for the past six months), we wanted to make sure all our alumni knew how to access CNAA job resources and help fellow alumni connect with each other.
• Become Visible in the Coro Community: Help us help you! If CNAA doesn’t have your updated information in our national database, other alumni can’t find you! If you haven’t updated your information in a while, please log into your Coro account and update your information today. You will be able to decide which information you want to be public in the database, and to what extent you’d like to connect to fellow alumni (e.g., whether you’re willing to speak to other alumni, talk about your career, etc.). If you don't have your login/password for the Coro internet just visit www.coro.org/updateinfo and we will send you your access information.
• Search for Jobs: Access the Coro Job Bank by visiting www.coro.org/searchjobs and you can locate jobs by job descriptor’s, sector, and geographic location.
• Share Job Postings with Coro Alumni: Share job postings with the wider Coro community by contributing to the Coro Job Bank. If you know of a job opening up at your organization, please take a moment to fill out the form at www.coro.org/submitjob, and help connect Coro alumni to their next great job!
• Discuss Job Searching Tips and Leads: CNAA has set up a new discussion board on our intranet at www.coro.org/boards where alumni can share job searching advice, discuss strategies, and generally provide support to one another through the job searching process. Note: you will need your login/password information to access the CNAA intranet.
Please let us know if there are other ways CNAA can support you in your job search process! Email us at cnaa@coro.org with your ideas!
Dear Coro Alumni and Friends,
Happy New Year from the Coro National Alumni Association! The new decade holds a lot of promise for our community, and we are excited to support Coro as it begins to transform itself into a premier 21st century leadership training organization. As the newly elected President of the CNAA Board of Directors , I feel inspired by the opportunity to support Coro at this exciting time, and to connect with all of you as we work together to help Coro become a stronger, more robust, and wide-reaching leadership training organization in the months and years to come.
I wanted to take this opportunity to share with you some exciting new happenings in the Coro system. Last November, the Coro system adopted new Coro Governance Principles that will guide Coro’s growth and organizational transformation in the coming years. Since March 2008, representatives of all Coro entities have worked tirelessly together to create the new Principles, and I want to thank all the members of the Governance Committee for their hard work. I hope that the spirit of collaboration continues as we continue to work together in 2010 to craft the new Coro national by-laws. To learn more about the Coro governance process, read the new Coro Governance Principles, and join the Governance discussion, please click here.
As the Coro systems continues the new governance process, your engagement and support will be more crucial than ever in ensuring Coro’s success! If you are already involved in local and national Coro alumni activities, please continue the good work! If you haven’t connected to Coro in a while, now is the time! CNAA invites all members of our alumni community to engage by:
• Becoming a CNAA member and supporting our national alumni activities through your membership.
• Getting involved with CNAA to plan and implement Coro alumni activities around the nation (send us an email at cnaa@coro.org if you would like to get involved!).
• Supporting alumni activities through a direct donation to CNAA or Coro Centers.
• Connecting with—or starting—your local Coro alumni group.
• Following CNAA on Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook for newest Coro alumni happenings.
Also, please check out the CNAA homepage for new features including alumni news, Coro tools and leadership resources!
Wishing you the best in 2010!
