Students Engaged in Leadership (Teen Bloc)

Students Engaged in Leadership (SEL) , or Teen Bloc is a collaborative program of A+ Schools, the MGR Foundation, and Coro Pittsburgh.

Teen Bloc transforms students by equipping them with leadership skills and tools (in areas such as communication, visioning, facilitation, and project planning) to effectively articulate and amplify their voice in public conversations on improving public education in Pittsburgh.  Teen Bloc transforms the public education by connecting students to educational leaders and assisting them in defining and advocating for system wide changes.

Teen Bloc also promotes systemic change by convening groups of students toward the goal of collective action.  These efforts build a more inclusive democracy by bringing young people into public decision processes.
