Mr. McMorrow is a member of both the Firm’s Government & Regulatory and Business & Transactions Divisions. In addition to serving on the Firm’s Operations Committee, he also serves as Administrative Partner of the Sacramento office. Mr. McMorrow focuses his practice in two areas: legislative and administrative advocacy, and nonprofit corporate governance, restructuring and community development issues. He is honored to have been named by his peers as one of the 5 most effective private sector lawyers practicing before the California State Government.

He has extensive experience representing clients before the California State Legislature, Congress, and the executive branch at both the state and federal level. He has successfully influenced policy in the legislative and administrative contexts, including through traditional lobbying, alliance development, public relations, regulatory rule makings, procurement, in court and administrative hearings. Mr. McMorrow is frequently engaged to resolve complex matters requiring strategic thinking, discretion and discipline in execution. He is often asked to speak on public policy, politics and strategic planning.

Mr. McMorrow advises clients on all aspects of nonprofit corporate governance, restructuring and community development issues. In this capacity, Mr. McMorrow has been called upon as an advisor to numerous significant nonprofit corporations, foundations and policymakers including representatives of President Clinton’s Community Empowerment Board, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and of the States of Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi and the District of Columbia.

Mr. McMorrow’s clients include, among others, ACS State & Local Government Solutions, adidas America, Countrywide Home Loans, Eli Lilly & Company, Fidelity Investments, Johnson & Johnson, KB Home, the Knights of Malta Free Clinics, the Los Angeles Department of Water & Power, Nehemiah Corporation of California, Oracle, VerizonWireless, and Wachovia Corporation

Mr. McMorrow received his J.D. from George Washington University in 1989, where he was honored as the Samuel Greene Memorial Scholar, Associate Editor of the George Washington Journal and selected to represent the law school as a member of the Van Vllek Appellate Moot Court Board. He earned his B.A. with honors from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1985. In addition, Mr. McMorrow was also a Gold Fourragere Society member (Top 15% of Class), Coro Foundation Fellow of New York City (1985-1986), and Leadership Los Angeles Fellow (1990-1991).
