Programs
The Coro New York Leadership Center equips individuals of all ages and from all backgrounds with the knowledge and skills they need to play active civic leadership roles across the private, public and non-profit sectors. Our programs are aimed at four target groups: NYC public high school students, young and mid-career professionals, and individuals working with immigrant communities in New York City.

The Immigrant Civic Leadership Program (ICLP) enhances the capacity of leaders working to strengthen immigrant communities. ICLP participants explore strategies for shaping public policies that affect NYC as a whole and immigrant communities in particular. ICLP also challenges participants to examine their individual approaches to leadership in order to build and sustain their organizational and personal visions for change. The next ICLP class runs from January to June 2009.

The Fellows Program in Public Affairs (FPPA) is a full-time program that prepares young professionals for effective and ethical leadership in the public affairs arena. The Fellows Program is offered in five cities nationwide: Los Angeles, New York, Pittsburgh, San Francisco, and St. Louis. The next Fellows Program class runs from September 2008 to May 2009.

Exploring Leadership (EL) cultivates NYC public high school students as civic leaders effecting educational change within their schools and communities. Exploring Leadership is open to students from four NYC public high schools: Bushwick School for Social Justice, High School for Public Service, School for Democracy and Leadership, and Urban Academy. The next Exploring Leadership class runs from June 2009 to May 2010.

Leadership New York (LNY) brings together a diverse learning community of mid-career professionals from the private, public and non-profit sectors. Participants examine their personal approaches to leadership while going behind the scenes to wrestle with NYC’s complex public policy questions. The next LNY class runs from September 2008 to May 2009.
In addition, Alumni Programs provide regular educational and networking opportunities for the nearly 2,000 Coro alumni in the New York area.
