PROGRAM STRUCTURE

Leadership New York meets September through May and requires attendance at an opening retreat, monthly weekday sessions, and several Saturday and evening workshops.

During monthly weekday sessions, known as Issue Days, participants explore New York City’s current policy challenges through site visits, small group interviews, panel discussions, and other activities across the five boroughs. Topics include: arts and culture; criminal justice and public safety; economic development and housing; education; public finance; international city and media; and public health and social services.

The opening retreat, Saturday workshops and evening sessions are designed for leadership development and in-depth follow-up discussion.
