Alumni Profile

Robert Fruend, STL '90, is the founding CEO of RHC and has been there for 6 1/2 years. Rob was attracted to the opportunity because of the opportunity to apply many of the skills he gained consulting with large health systems across the country to community-based health care issues in his own home town.. The work at RHC shares many features with Coro’s understanding of how effective communities work. Problems are addressed through multi-sector task forces made up of the diverse stakeholders involved in the problem – patients, health associations, top-level staff of health providers, governmental officials, advocates, business leaders, political leaders, and so forth. Rob notes that it is unusual to have such a diverse group from across the St. Louis community in the sameroom trying to improve the system – sometimes reminds him of his Fellows class. RHC manages these groups so that the representatives with diverse perspectives work toward consensus. To read more, click here >>
