Join us for a screening of Waiting for Superman.

Critics and community leaders are calling this documentary a call to action for citizens to engage in the future improvement of our national public school system.  Join Coro alumni and community members for a screening of the film, followed by a discussion on how it relates to the realities in the NYC Department of Education and how we can take actions – big and small - towards reform that is best for New York City’s children.

Hear ideas from: Michael Haberman (LNY X), President of PENCIL; Emilie Mittiga, Teacher, School of Democracy & Leadership; Gary Johnson (FPNY 2009-2010), graduate from the Harlem Children’s Zone; and participants from our Exploring Leadership program.

    * Participate by asking questions and forming new ideas
    * Leave with a sense of purpose on what any citizen could do to help improve our schools .
