Development Associate Position

Organizational Overview

The Coro New York Leadership Center was founded over twenty-five years ago with a singular goal – to train a new generation of dedicated and committed civic leaders who can instill confidence in our democratic institutions and advance innovative approaches to addressing New York City’s complex challenges. We teach Coro participants how public policy is shaped, the avenues that exist for citizen participation and the skills they need to effect change.

Coro New York today runs five innovative civic leadership development programs for participants across the career spectrum: 1) Exploring Leadership immerses New York City public high school students in understanding education reform while learning to become civic leaders; 2) The Fellows Program prepares early-career professionals to exercise effective leadership in public affairs; 3) Leadership New York challenges mid-career professionals from across non-profit, public and private sectors to wrestle with the City’s most complex urban policy questions; 4) Immigrant Civic Leadership Program strengthens immigrant communities by enhancing the capacity of the leaders who work in and for these communities; and 5) Alumni Programming provides Coro graduates with multiple avenues for further skill development, networking, and ongoing civic engagement.
