Leadership New York challenges experienced professionals from across non-profit, public and private sectors to explore critical issues facing New York City, develop new ways to lead change in their communities and organizations, and join a leadership community of nearly 2,000 alumni in business, government and non-profits who are shaping the future of the city.

The application period is open from May 14th to July 20th.

Who

Approximately 55 participants are selected each year.  

Candidate requirements:
  • A capacity for reflection and a mindset for growth
  • A desire to try new frameworks
  • Minimum of seven to ten years of professional work experience
  • Demonstrate good citizenship to New York City through work, interest, or volunteer activities
  • Embrace the challenges confronting the city with excitement and a sense of responsibility
  • Live or work in New York City
  • Willing to meet the time requirements of the program

Application Process

Submit online application by JULY 15:
  • $100 application fee
  • Four Essay Questions
  • List of Community and Professional Affiliations
  • One letter of recommendation
  • Resume/CV
Attend ONE Learn LNY Selection Session:
  • Tuesday, July 26  9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, July 26  2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, Aug 6  9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, Aug 6  2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
If selected, submit:
  • Employer/Sponsor Statement of Commitment
  • Brief bio and photo
  • Payment (limited scholarships are available)

When

The application period for Leadership New York runs each year from April through early July. The selection process extends through mid-August.
