New York City's neighborhoods and the commercial districts at their core require a unique kind of leadership: catalysts for positive change who embrace complex challenges and bridge professional and social divisions to engage all constituents in their communities.

Who

Between 15 to 20 talented individuals are selected for the Neighborhood Leadership program.

Strong candidates for the program:

  • Are management staff of nonprofit organizations that serve commercial districts in New York City.
  • Whose work focuses on commercial revitalization activities
  • Include a majority of those who serve low to moderate income neighborhoods with limited slots available for those whose organizations do not fall within this category

What

To apply to the Neighborhood Leadership program, you must submit the following:

  • Online Application Form
  • One Letter of Recommendation

The online application form asks for your resume and responses to two short-answer essays.

When

Application deadline is December 9, 2011. Candidates will be notified of their acceptance by December 31, 2011.
