  • 1) Complete a brief interest form that provides Coro with basic contact information.

    2) Fill out an full online application. Applications must be submitted by DEADLINE.

    The online application requires:

    - Background and contact information

    - Resume

    - Written essays (2)

    - 1-minute video submission explaining “Why Coro?”

    - Reference forms (2)

    - Transcripts from all post-secondary academic institutions you have attended (unofficial transcripts are accepted)

  • Based on a review of the written application materials, Coro invites 36 finalists to attend a daylong assessment, Selection Day, at each Coro location in March. Candidates are notified in February if they are selected as finalists. Finalists attend the Selection Day at the Center that reviewed their application. More information on Selection Day is provided to finalists upon notification in February.

    Fellows classes are selected from among the finalists based on numerous factors, including: skills and abilities of the individual; diversity of experiences and perspectives among class members; ability of Fellows to learn from and work with each other; regional leadership needs; and others. Invitations to successful candidates to join the Coro Fellows Program are extended beginning in April. Centers also maintain a list of alternates who may receive an invitation to join the program later.

  • Essay 1: What significant personal and/or professional factors have most informed your present outlook? How do these impact your relationship to your community or communities? (500 word limit)

    Essay 2: Briefly describe a high stakes situation in which you exercised leadership. What was your role, what did you do that had an impact on the success or failure of the group, and what did you learn about yourself? How does this reflect your approach to leadership? (500 word limit)

  • To apply to the Coro Fellows Program, we require two reference forms. Instructions for reference forms are outlined in the online application. Please follow those instructions thoroughly. It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure all reference forms by recommenders are submitted by the application deadline of TBD for 2025-2026

  • Record a video of yourself explaining how your participation in the Coro Fellows Program in Public Affairs will equip you to realize your leadership or professional aspirations. You should be the only person in the video, and the video shouldn’t contain edits or additional effects. Only the first 60 seconds of the video will be considered.

  • The Coro Fellows Program in Public Affairs will be offered in five cities in 2024-25: Los Angeles, New York, Pittsburgh, San Francisco, and St. Louis.

    LOS ANGELES - Accepts applications from individuals nationwide. If unsure of your desired Coro location, this center will process undecided applicants in Arizona, California (Southern), Louisiana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Dakota and Western US Territories.

    NEW YORK - Accepts applications from individuals nationwide. If unsure of your desired Coro location, this center will process undecided applicants in New York, Connecticut, and New Jersey.

    PITTSBURGH - Accepts applications from individuals nationwide. If unsure of your desired Coro location, this center will process undecided applicants from everywhere east of the Mississippi River except NY, NJ, & Connecticut. This center also processes interest from Eastern US Territories.

    SAN FRANCISCO - Accepts applications from individuals nationwide. If unsure of your desired Coro location, this center will process undecided applicants in Alaska, California (Northern), Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, Wyoming, Colorado, Texas, and Oklahoma.

    ST. LOUIS - Accepts applications from individuals nationwide. If unsure of your desired Coro location, this center will process undecided applicants in Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska.

    All sites can provide general information and connect you to any other site if you decide on a preference.
